Apparently more grain was coming in than they could store in the elevators (a fairly frequent occurance in the fall) so some is temporarily being stored on the ground

I love my Sunday morning "commute"! Not only do I frequently get to see marvelous sights like this, I also get to be in worship with wonderful people at the end of each leg of the trip! Gos is so good.

Yep, it's yet another gratuitous pickup shot, but this time you get to see my little buddy Stumpy Jack in the image as well as I show my "photo safari crew" illuminated in morning light at the edge of a gravel road in rural Towner County, ND. I had walked out in the grass to get another shot of an old IHC farm truck, and, as usual, Stumpy beat me back to our ride, and since he's just so cute, I took a photo :-)

A large trencher near the end of a section of what appears to be 6" water line installation. It wasn't trenching when I took this shot, but you can see how it handled the pipe in this view

Here you see my ever faithful little buddy and co-explorer Stumpy Jack assuming his navigator position as we head out into the prairie in search of cool stuff to photograph. I love this little guy even if he does get puppy nose prints all over my windows :-)

A pair of grain bins that have apparently done quite well, because, as you can see here (and you know what's coming don't you?) they are both "out standing in their field"

Another look at the Klara Lutheran church that is located in SW Benson County, ND. After being informed that the church may not be around too much longer due to structural failure on the west basement wall (which you can see in this view if you look at the larger sizes) I just had to come for some more photos. I love how this gorgeous old church looks even though it makes me sad to see it empty and no longer in use.

I had hopped out of the pickup for a few quick shots of an old combine in a grain field, and as I was on my way back, I decided that I liked how that little red pickup looked in front of that nice blue sky... so you get another pickup shot :-) and yes, there'll probably be more :-)

Some people consider them to be eyesores, but I admit that I'm fascinated by these big things. I've been wanting to get a chance to shoot some of them with their reflections in water for some time now, and finally got out near them when we had a rare calm day on the prairie. I had gotten out of the pickup and climbed into the back to get a better vantage point for photographing a slough, and when I came back around the side of the pickup, there was my little buddy waiting. I love that little guy! (the cloudy sky reflected in the pickup window was an added bonus)
