Forcast: Rain

Fungman posted a photo:

What I learned about street photography is that it requires quick reactions and the ability of the photographer to blend into the surroundings. This is easier said then done. Carrying a big camera with a big lens simply isn't going to help! Next time it will only be a camera and a small prime lens, ie 50mm or 28mm!

Took this in Blackpool England just before the rain started to pour. Another day of crappy English weather! However, overcast lighting does produce soft and beautiful light for photography!

I can't stay away from flowers after purchasing the 105mm f/2.8 VR. Macro is much too fun!

After learning more about different film types I am starting to not like X-tra so much. Shot a few rolls of Kodak E100GX this month, that stuff is just amazing! Nice rich warm tones. But what I really want to try is some Kodak ultracolor 100 and 400 I purchased a month ago. Only have 2 rolls of each though and I heard that they are being discontinued. Best stock up a few rolls!

Anyways, lately I have been checking out some Zeiss 100mm ZF shots.. I am pretty amazed... kinda iching for one now!.. lets see if I can find a deal somewhere!

I think I am getting the hang of shooting film, negative film at least. So haha, its about time I try some more expensive film. My only quarrel is that I don't have a reliable scanning device to digitize my negatives (the prints for this shot look much better, more saturated and more dynamic). $10.99 for scanning on top of $4.99 for developing isn't going to be good for the wallet on the long run. With a D700 on hold I think the scanner will have to wait.

In any case just five more pictures to my 100th posting. Hope these next five will be good ones leading up to my big 100.

Dramatic low angle light provides so many possibilities. However my technique is still sloppy, should have used a higher f/stop for this shot because the first tree is out of focus.

Getting to know the Superia X-tra 400 a bit better now. For a negative film I find it very saturated, which is nice for landscape, but for portraits I think I have to find something else. A box of 120 160s and 800z is waiting for me though. But have to save that for my trip to England next month!
