The Bay Downtown

One of the city's most popular department stores... It's been around for years. As a kid this was a Morgan's store. The Bay (or The Hudson's Bay Corporation) was founded in 1670 as part of the fur trade expansion in northern Canada during the years North America was being opened up to find a quick route to China. It still exists today but now owned by Americans.

Well.. one of the towers under construction next to Place Ville Marie. The city's in a construction boom at the moment.. lots of projects going on all over the island.

Montreal seems to be undergoing a serious construction boom.. cranes are everywhere and as always traffic suffers. It's particularly bad around Place-des-Arts as the city renovates the entire area and new buildings go up.
