I forget which road we were on when this was taken last summer, but it is in the area near where the fires are burning in Colorado Springs. This is not smoke, but the afternoon thunderclouds rolling in.
On the news i heard that the winds had died down, but several hundred homes had been burned to the ground and many people were taken to the hospital with smoke inhalation.

Long exposure taken while driving (as passenger) on "scenic route" 182 in Maine between the spring-green trees. I take lots of shots like this trying to get just the right amount of blur..Bumpy roads make it much harder, but in this case I like the blur going everwhere. This route would be awesome in the autumn!

Happy accident.....The light illuminated the maples as we passed in the car and I aimed the camera and this is what I got..guess I forgot it was on manual focus..but I like it ;-)

I never take self-portraits and so I decided since all the people were gone (it was very dark when I took this) that I would try a long exposure with me in it. Several cars passed on the road behind the camera and shone a bit of light on the foreground making the shadow lines on the ground. It was our "summer in March" night, and now the regular weather is back with 5-10 cm of snow forecast for tomorrow in some parts of Nova Scotia

The weather was record-breaking warm this week and I missed a couple of good sunsets so Wednesday I decided to try my luck and drove out to a little lake where I swim in the summer. This couple was nice enough to agree to let me include them in the shot, so I got an email address to send them a copy. Thanks folks!

We went to Newfoundland for Christmas week. The 2 1/2 hour drive from the airport in St. John's to my mother-in-law's house was gorgeous with a blanket of fresh snow which had fallen overnight, covering partly forzen ponds and the ubiquitous evergreens. I have so many shots so i may upload them in batches...

We are having amazing weather in Nova Scotia this autum., Though the leaves are pretty much all off the trees now, the days have been mostly warm..in the high 50's or 60 ish (about 14-17C) . I have so many autumn pictures I don't know what to do with them all...;-)

Well, this is my first atempt at a panorama in PSE9, but the photo merge panorama feature did not seem to work so I made a blank file and dragged 5 shots (and duplictes of each) onto it, and did my best to align them and work out the kinks with the varying exposures..and If I had used a tripod that may have helped too! And, duh, it took me all morning was I was cat-sitting for my neighbour. And of course, it looks pretty tiny on flickr..so you don't see my errors as much LOL

I took one of my best autumn shots at this spot a few years ago and have gone back every fall to try to compare the colors. Last year the color was not nearly as rich as the colors this year. I love all the colors we get in the maple trees here, from reds to oranges to golds and bright yellows.

Our Nova scotia weather has been warm and summerilike which seems to have delayed the arrival of the gorgeous autumn colors, but this week the trees seem to have exploded with color and i am loving it!!
