*Can I just say here that although yes this story IS based to SOME EXTENT on real life events, most of it is simply metaphor for other, real life incidents. Also many incidents in this story are completely fictional/hypothetical at this point in time (eg "His" emotions are often exaggerated as per my real life model and "She" is far less reactive in reality). Therefore, I'd recommend you all not to read too much into this story* =)

In The Maldivian Language, Dhivehi, Inland basins such as these are called kulhis. This was in Dhapparu, the uninhabited portion of the northern island Filladhoo. The water here is very murky and stinky due to the decaying leaves from all the greenery around. The kulhi itself is very deep at the centre and home to a large number of fish. Humongous red crabs make their home on its marshy boggy shores

multilingualism is encouraged in attempting to understand this. there were many of these all over the walls of the houses in Kelaa and although i discerned a literal meaning ("You hit me, i hit you") I'd be grateful to anyone who could point out the context here. shade WB ftw!!!

but here i am once again :D going to make it a point NOT TO ABANDON THIS PROJECT, which will be carried out entirely at 50mm. Set myself a more realistic goal of weekly updates rather than daily, but i'll try to do more than just the one weekly upload. yup.

Remember those Knights and Knaves in Ye Olde Egland? yes? ok look at this guy's exo O_O. He must be like fucken bulletproof or something.

No processing except a slight crop to remove the vignetting and the watermark.

actual bug size approx. 5mm. Gotta love the reverse lens setup heheh. except the horribly tiny DOF which i suppose people with better compu's have no problem with (focus stacking =( )

Traditionally maldivians built their houses by weaing the readily available palm fronds into structures such as the one above. What struck me about this picture as i transferred it to my computer was that it makes my head ache and my vision swim as i look at it but maybe that's just me O_o. This was the wall of a boat shed on the beach at Kelaa.

this is the first picture I've taken that's passed through Nikon Capture NX 2.0 (just got it today =D) and i must say I'm impressed with the feature set and the ease of control of the workflow. still used photoshop as well, a bit. I'm not a radical post processor usually but capture NX has this color space shifting feature and one option was RICOH RUSSIAN-SC 040402 and so i tried it out and loved the result although the people who saw the softer tones in the original preferred that to this O_o.
