This photo is an edited version of one of the shots in my Summer in Oslo shot-from-the-hip collage (A6). I upped the contrast, cropped it into a square and made it black and white.

Seems I have a thing for square black and white shots these days. Hm.

Submitted for MSH0709 - fahrvergnügen. Fahrvergnügen, according to wikipedia, was an advertising slogan for Volkswagen in 1989. The word means 'driving enjoyment', and surely you enjoy driving when you're in a car as nice as this one :)

Féile an Dóilín is a maritime festival in An Cheathrú Rua on the west coast of Ireland. Featuring in this festival is the traditional sailing boat known as the Galway Hooker - Húicéir na Gaillimhe.

This is a new building belonging to the Department of Informatics at the University of Oslo. I loathe it with a passion; it's big and ugly and dark and looming over the area in which it is placed.

Detail of the fountain "Påfuglen" - the peacock - at Nationaltheatret, Oslo. Normally, there is water coming out of the rods, so that the water forms a sort of dome.

Another Diana shot from Whitby last summer, taken on one of the piers that face the North Sea at the mouth of the river Esk. It really was as foggy as it looks like here. It was a weird experience; the lighthouses and the end of the piers - towards which this photo is facing - was almost completely hidden by the fog. We could hear the foghorn that's out on the west pier and the sound of the ocean, but neither could be seen.

Roses in the city

There's this building on a street in Oslo where I sometimes walk that is quite dilapidated and a little sad-looking. I wanted to cheer it up a little - a friend lives there - so I double-exposed a frame with some roses that grew nearby so as to decorate the building with roses.

From the first roll I took with my brand-new Diana+ camera. I'm so happy about that camera! :)

This photo is inspired one of my favourite-ever shots by Sami - this wonderful tulip-y goodness.

The Opera House, Oslo

A path through the snow on the roof of the Oslo Opera House. The roof is open to the public in the summer, but is closed in the winter, as shown by the chain fence. Not that people appeared to care!
