Those clouds looked really creepy, as they slowly swallowed the whole landscape... Unfortunately the sky was rather dull, so I had to add quite a bit of processing to get some blue out of it...

I'll also show a photo taken from the top (yup, we climbed it).

The Storr is a rocky hill on the Trotternish peninsula of the Isle of Skye. The hill presents a steep rocky eastern face overlooking the Sound of Raasay, contrasting with gentler grassy slopes to the west.

The area in front of the cliffs of the Storr is known as the Sanctuary. This has a number of weirdly shaped rock pinnacles, the remnants of ancient landslips. The most famous of these, and by far the largest and most apparent when approaching from the south, is known as the Old Man of Storr (Bodach an Stòir).

In January 2012, production of the science-fiction film Prometheus moved to the Isle of Skye, with filming taking place at the Old Man of Storr.

It looked to me as if the cloud was trapped inside that curved building, thus the title... I wonder for how long I'm still gonna find new stuff in my NYC archives... ;)

If anyone from NY could remind me where i could have photographed this exactly... I guess it was somewhere near the Apple Store, but i didn't have my gps tracker on

The Prague Metro is a subway, underground public transportation network in Prague, Czech Republic. It is the fastest means of transportation around the city and serves about one and a half million passengers a day, which makes it the seventh busiest metro system in Europe and the most-used in the world on a per capita basis.

The Prague Metro comprises three lines, each of which is represented by its own colour on the maps and signs: Line A (green), Line B (yellow) and Line C (red). There are 57 stations in total (three of which are transfer stations) connected by nearly 60 kilometres of mostly underground railways. The metro service operates between 4-5 am till midnight from Sunday till Thursday (on Friday and Saturday the last trains journey start at 1am), with about two- to three-minute intervals between trains during rush hours. Over 500 million passengers use the Prague Metro every year.

The metro is run by the Prague Public Transit Company Co. Inc. (in Czech officially Dopravní podnik hlavního města Prahy a.s.) which manages all means of public transport around the city (the metro, tramways, buses, the funicular to Petřín Hill and the chairlift inside Prague Zoo). Since 1993, this system has been connected to commuter trains and buses and also to "park-and-ride" parking lots. Together they form a public transportation network reaching further from the city called Prague Integrated Transport (Pražská integrovaná doprava—PID). Whilst the large system is zonally priced, the metro is fully inside the central zone.

Many Prague Metro stations are quite large, with several entrances spaced relatively far apart. This can often lead to confusion for tourists, especially at the central hubs such as Můstek or Muzeum: it is not enough to merely get off at the right station; one must also choose the right way out to the surface, otherwise one can easily find oneself five or ten minutes' walking distance from the required destination. However, in general the stations are well signposted even for those unfamiliar with local language.

I'm back from tuscany. The weather wasn't the best but we still had a great time.

I noticed this boardwalk right at the shore of the sea in Livorno while we were passing through and we had to stop to take photos. Fortunately right at that moment there was nice light... More shots from this place to follow ;)

When i went to bed at 1am - I was watching the winter olympics - the sky was starry.

When i woke up this morning we had this much snow (we all hoped winter had finally ended...) - what a waste of nature's effort, because now, in the afternoon, it has melted again. The forecast for tomorrow is +12°C

Technique/Processing

Shot at 180mm f/2.8, focused on the lantern to created the nice dof.

Processing in Photoshop: Standard levels adjustment, Cross Processing in Color FX (Preset B2 @ 68% opacity), then added slight vignetting around the man.

We sat down on the benches of the vestibule of the Grand Central Terminal for a while and this gentlemen in black came along and with came the light, which created this pattern.

A few minutes later we were (not so politely!) asked to go back behind the barrier (you can see it in the middle of the frame).

Grand Central Terminal (GCT) — (sometimes incorrectly called) Grand Central Station or simply Grand Central — is a terminal station at 42nd Street and Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. Built by and named for the New York Central Railroad in the heyday of American long-distance passenger trains, it is the largest train station in the world by number of platforms: 44, with 67 tracks along them. They are on two levels, both below ground, with 41 tracks on the upper level and 26 on the lower, though the total number of tracks along platforms and in yards exceeds 100. When the Long Island Rail Road's new station, below the existing levels, opens (see East Side Access), Grand Central will offer a total of 75 tracks and 48 platforms. The terminal covers an area of 48 acres (19 ha).

The terminal serves commuters traveling on the Metro-North Railroad to Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties in New York State, and Fairfield and New Haven counties in Connecticut.

Technique/Processing

Despite the sunlight coming in through the window, it was rather dark so i dialed up the ISO to 2200, thus the slight grainy look. I didn't remove it in Photoshop because i think it fits the photo well...

Technique/Processing:

Shot wide open with the Sigma 50mm f/1.4. Shadows lightened a bit and the cross processed with Nik Color Efex. No HDR or DRI (obviously ;))
