In which I express my amazement that Hope found a tennis ball that someone left in the lake within 15 seconds of jumping in the water. That dog loves (to eat) tennis balls like nothing else. Pretty good at fetching, too!

A close-up of Hope while she was swimming. You can see her webbed feet all splayed out when she paddles. They look twice the size of her already oversize feet, so they must be quite a help.

The Dog Trot rental house included a private lake on the property... how many rentals have that?! It's kind of shaped like a grand piano, thus the name. The lake made for a great view, and Hope loved getting to swim.

The master bathroom at Dog Trot was nearly as large as our bedroom at home. I was standing in the huge shower stall, Hope was sitting next to the soaking tub.

Backstage at SF Ballet

We got a backstage tour of the San Francisco Opera House from SF Ballet soloist Garen Scribner! The stage is huge, and like four stories tall to hold backdrops for multiple shows. He also showed us through the dressing rooms, symphony rehearsal spaces, and the elevators that move sets up and down from below the stage. Awesome!

The Orchid House at the Rio Botanical Garden was spectacular. They apparently have over 2,000 species, and lots of them were on display.

The living area of Dog Trot had walls of window on both sides so you could see right through. It was really awesome!

The back patio of the Dog Trot house, complete with a Japanese soaking tub. We loved the modern, minimal architecture and interior. So much glass that it almost blended into the landscape.
