Mechanical problems with my usual train, so they moved us all onto the next train. The bike car is a mob scene. 10lbs in a 5lb bag.

Caltrain South-bound 280 hit a car just north of San Mateo station. We didn't feel anything except the brakes kicking on fairly hard. The driver got out of the car before impact and was uninjured. Apparently her dog was in the car, but somehow also escaped injury. Merry Christmas (now stay off the tracks!)!

The front of the locomotive was extensively damaged - we heard the driver saying it was making funny noises as we inched from the scene of the accident into San Mateo station. A rescue train a while later.

iPhone weirdness -- I don't think this was distortion from the glass, but maybe an artifact from the iPhone camera shutter? We were probably going about 60-70mph.
