&lt;p&gt;Kupuna Butch Richards teaches coconut palm frond weaving just before sunset on the lanai of the Eva Parker Woods Cottage at Kalahuipua'a.  Later in the evening, Uncle Butch gave a talk about Hawaiian medicinal plants.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Many of his stories of learning about plants from his elders as a young boy involved getting the belt or the stick as incentive for not making mistakes.  I think Uncle Butch's teaching methods are a little gentler.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
