my pal Michael is on a road trip to see widespread panic at Red Rocks in Colorado this week. i pretty much hang out only at his place... so its gonna be a slow week for me... luckily his roommate has invited me over anytime i want.

i've been drafting all day, so i wasnt too jazzed to do a whole lot of PSing tonight after staring at this monitor all day. just a quick shot, and a quick edit. i really need the Asst Tech Director to email me an updated ground plan of the theatre, with lighting positions. im at a standstill. at least i got an updated plot from the scenic designer.

because i had to work today, i had to cancel my spot on the Athens photowalk, which was really upsetting because i was looking forward to it for months. but as luck would have it, i was able to jump in on one of the three taking place in Atlanta because it was in the morning, before i had to be sitting at the lightboard.

along the way in cabbagetown we came across an old VW Beetle in disrepair. it had a cool custom paint job, and i had a blast shooting it. old beat up cars are one of my favorite subjects... i find them so interesting. anyway... ill have pics of it, and the rest of my photowalk up soon.. gotta go thru and edit of course.

coming from the north to the deep south im still getting used to how prevalent trains are here. in the north, when you say train, most people think commuter trains, but down here, railroad tracks criss cross all over town carrying all the essential things that keep america's proverbial wheels turning. This is an abandoned section of track and i think is pretty fucking cool, and i know ill be back at for more shots.

in other news. remember the hell on earth show i did last week. well the "theatre company" if you can call them that complained about how their show went, and now they won't schedule us for work until there are some meeting to sort out what happened. it makes me angry that a group of unprofessional, uncourteous, rude, and frankly clueless people can affect us hard working technicians from getting work and a paycheck. as a freelancer, i live paycheck to paycheck a lot, so getting work scheduled is a big deal for me. im sure it will be sorted out in the next couple days, but its the principal, you know?

finally. (whew) the sky in this comes from another one of my shots i took during this shoot... i had my F-Stop wrong on this particular one, so thank you photoshop.

man... i wish i could tell you i had some cool reason for this photo... but no. i had something else in mind... it didnt really work, and so this is what ended up getting in front of my lens and thru photoshop. i took an alternate... but i decided to save it for another time.

oh. and did anyone catch the pades vs astros game today? i know the edit girl did. 45 min game delay due to BEES! Killer Bees swarmed left field. it was unreal.

theres no way i can hide my head for a couple weeks... so here it is in all its short glory. i went to trim my hair yesterday, and hit a snag, taking waaay to much off a patch in the front... so i had to shave my head to this short. ahhh i hate how i look with short hair.

my interview with the Georgia Ensemble Theatre went really awesome today tho. they talked to me both about doing some design work, and also about a master electrician position for next season... really great, esp since they called me. so, im a happy camper...

this hair feel soooo weird.

about an hour into photoshopping this my computer crashed. i was very mad.

anyway. t-shirt junkie alert. as soon as i saw this shirt i knew i had to have it. i think it would have been so freakin cool to have been at woodstock.

i think the closest thing out generation has to it is bonnaroo, and every year it rolls around i cant afford to go. blah. maybe next year.

welp. we broke down. well... not rrreally... but yes.

i put in the A/Cs today. i think we prolly would have been ok with out them for a few more weeks, but since we'll be out of town, and our friend will be over here staying with the dogs, i put in the A/Cs so that HE doesnt have to deal with the heat and mugginess.

Of course, now that they are in, i dont want to go anywhere in the house where there is no A/C. its nice and cool.

oh you're missing so much!!

this is my "go-to" shot. i promised a flickr friend my shot would be NHL related today to show my affiliation during these playoffs, however, time got away from me and i panicked with 9 minutes to midnight and just snapped off this. this tends to be my "oh shit i have to take a picture" shot. looking down, from a slightly raised angle... and then heavily photoshopped to make look cooler.

its my "signature shot" if you will.... (now i have one!)

anyways. ill do my NHL shot tomorrow. promise.

today was that spring day that you remember from year to year. the sun shining bright with the big puffy clouds. perfect temperature, perfect humidity... no allergies bothering you, no harsh sunlight. the kind of day where you just walk outside and stand there, just because.

its been a pretty uneventful week. thats what happens when there is a lull in the tech theatre industry. work is slow.

today was the last day i had the fisheye. i'd really like to take the time to thank borrowlenses.com and photodoto.com with whom i won the contest for the free rental.

you wont stop seeing the fisheye shots, as i have tons i have yet to process and post, but my 365's will return to normal.

i couldnt figure out which processing for this shot i liked better yet again, so the alternate is below in the comments.

oh, and of course, just as i send back this lens... clear skies and sunny for the next week. grrrr.
