Rescue at China Beach & Sea Cliff

Yulia and I went to Lands End trail to see solar eclipse this Sunday. On the way back we saw a couple of rescue boats in the water circling around near rocks west of China Beach and we noticed some of the SF Fire Department and another rescue crew on the side of the Sea Cliff. We drove down to China Beach to find out what was going on. Turned out that some guy managed to get over some of the big rocks on the west side of the China beach and later on didn't want to get his feet wet in the surf, decided that he can climb up a really steep rock wall. Got stuck in the middle and rescue was called in to get him to safety. There was about dozen of firetrucks, at least 2 ambulances, special rescue teams and 2 boats on the water. I think over 25-30 people were involved in trying to get this person to a safe spot. I know people do stupid things, but this is a really moronic act and I'm guessing this guy will be stuck with a huge bill.

More info and Photos below in the comments section. Not the greatest photos as sun was shining right into my lens most of the time. I was just trying to document what was happening.
