Extreme conditions in Wildcat Canyon. The amount of water coming down the spillway and going over the falls was remarkable. A bit farther down, the creek had completed inundated the canyon trail.

Berkeley's Best Waterfall

This is on private property in the hills, but you can visit if you stay on the paths. I went in the morning after a night of rain so the water volume was high. The bridge was slick and treacherous.

Adjacent human provided for scale.

High flow in Codornices Creek after overnight and morning rain. I tried getting closer but the mud was very slippery, and since I already have extensive experience with slipping on mud and falling on my ass I decided to cut my efforts short.

Sigma 10-20 @ 18mm. Several averaged exposures to simulate a single long exposure in daylight.

The Berkeley hills are full of fresh green growth after an epic series of late winter and early spring rainstorms.

Sigma 10-20mm @ 10mm, f/11. Several merged exposures with additional input from a boosted raw file. I might have overcooked this one a little, but colors and tones are ill-behaved when staring into the sun.

The footbridge between Le Conte Hall and the Faculty Club. The tree at right is highly unfortunate but this was the only place to put the camera with the water running so high.
