I heard a bird singing and saw this Towhee posing on the dead pine. (The long lens gave me tunnel vision.) I quickly realized that the bird singing was not the Towhee. When I finally saw the Lazuli Bunting, the song was finished and I missed the photo.

This bridge connects St.Petersburg to Bradington, Florida. I have ridden back and forth on this bridge since it was a narrow two-lane bumpy bridge. I fished on it, speed on it, boated under it, and this is the first time I really spent some time photographing it. I was on Mullet Key facing the bridge but I didn't have the time to run around the corner and have the sun rise in between the spans. This way the sun looks like a really bright street light.

On Sunday, I took the long drive to the Conowingo Dam and had to drive at 15 mph for the last three foggy miles. The fog was so dense that I couldn't see the tops of trees. After a couple hours of waiting for the fog to lift, I took about an hour walk along the river. I met these three pleasant gents walking for health as they commiserated about bad drivers, bad football teams and illnesses.
When the fog lifted, the eagles didn't. I could see them sitting on rocks all around the far shore and in the powerline towers. "Yesterday they were really active" was the general comment that I heard. I had some doubts but there was photographic proof that they were active. I didn't have time to wait for the eagles to get hungry and left with three photos of the fog....

The Chesapeake Beach boardwalk is a nice spot for duck watching.

They are comical and yet aggressive birds. I like their quizzical expressions and their brilliant blue feathers. Shiny small objects and small children with food seem to goad the Jays into acts of thievery.

It snakes along the continental divide. At over 12,000 feet , the road isn't safe for those with people with heart or lung ailments.

Here are some more fireworks shots. The sunset photos turned out better. They will be next.

I didn't see any Little Blue Heron wading. They were probably trying to stay warm but maybe they read the sign.

I like the way it is mapped as a social club.

This past Sunday I had a table at the "Impressions of Nature", a beneficial art sale. It rained all day and the picnic was washed out and the music was moved indoors.
This photo is from a deck that is thirty feet (or more) above the bay.
