I've run out of photos to upload so I'd better get and process some more RAW files, in the meantime you'll just have to make do with a variation on a theme. I uploaded the version below last weekend and maybe not too surprisingly it's had quite a few views. This shot of model Ivory Flame has been given quite a cold blue tint, initially I didn't like it but it's grown on me.

P.S : Looks like this'll hit 250 views within 24 hours, makes me think I should repeat the exercise again some time.

Todays Ivory Flame uploads are the last from the shoot I did with her last Summer although I've kept a few back to liven up my photostream at some point in the future. If you're considering trying out a similar shoot yourself I'd highly recommend it, particularly if you can book a model as delightful as Holly turned out to be. One thing that did surprise me is that, along with how much you can learn in a short space of time, is that how much my knowledge of other genres of photography such as Architectural photography inform some of these shots.

I don't know what you think but I'm rather impressed with these shots of Ivory Flame considering it was my first shoot. During the three hours there was plenty of opportunity to try out a lot of different types of photos, lighting, outfits etc. The shoot was a lot of fun and I look forward to doing it again some time.

Compared to some of the other shots this is 'straight out of the camera', I think it lets the the natural beauty of Ivory Flame shine through but in some ways it feels like there's not much of 'me' in the shot. I suppose what I'm trying to say is it's a pose made by the model against a plain background with relatively flat light and I've not manipulated it at all in post-production. It's questions like these that are one of the reasons I've been making a conscious effort to explore a more diverse range of photographic subjects.

If you're only seeing one upload from me today today then it's because either you're not logged in or you're got your safe search turned on. These basic but simple controls within Flickr were the deciding factor in uploading some of the artistic nudes from the photo shoot I did with the model Ivory Flame last year. I think the photos are a celebration of the beauty of the human form but I appreciate different people, cultures and religions might view them differently.

The last of this batch of Ivory Flame uploads unless I decide to upload some of the art nude shots I took from the same session. I asked the question yesterday but no-one has expressed any opinions either way but that might just be you don't want to be seen to encourage or disapprove publicly. I'd like to think if you saw the images any reservations would disappear but the other consideration for me are whether I'll be 'punished' by Flickr (in terms of search rankings etc) for uploading 'Moderate' photos and what potential clients licensing images might think. On the other side of the equation not to upload them might be considered as be somewhat of an insult to models like Holly who passionately believe that nudity is something to be celebrated and not something to be ashamed of.

WIth this shot of the model Ivory Flame I've gone for a post-production technique that has given extra definition to the form and hair. As much as the viewers eye is drawn to these aspects it's the strong eye contact that makes this one of my favourite images from the shoot.

I uploaded some shots of Holly just before I started on my Paris photos but I'd always intended uploading more. Now seemed an appropriate time as she's currently in the news as it was announced yesterday that despite being hotly tipped as the favourite 'Holly' by Louis Smith came second in the BP Portrait Award : www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-13770208

Question is should I upload some of the artistic nudes from the same session ? I wasn't going to but if they're good enough for the National Portrait Gallery maybe no-one would be too offended ?

These shots were taken last Summer in an effort to get outside of my Architecture / Travel Photography comfort zone. I think I got some great shots considering it was my first shoot with a professional model (much credit must go to Ivory Flame for her patience and willingness to suggest ideas).

Considering I just spent nearly six months uploading photos of Paris my photostream is looking pretty varied just at the moment. Would it be a step too far to upload some artistic nudes of Ivory Flame ? They're very tasteful and I'd set the appropriate level of restriction so that you'd only see them if you've switched your settings to 'moderate' ?

During the shoot with model Ivory Flame I wanted to try out some different lighting techniques including high-key. For this one I've retained a bit more of the face and hair detail and then applied a very subtle filter to enhance the line definition, if you view it large it'll be more apparent.

The session with Holly was great fun (and surprisingly hard work) and I'll have to give it a go another time. I learnt more about Portraiture in a few hours than I have done reading several books on the subject.

This is the last of the Ivory Flame uploads for now as I really must start uploading my Paris shots from my October trip.

For this shot of the model Ivory Flame I've darkened down the mid-grey background in Photoshop so that she stands out more. I wasn't convinced about the pose at the time but now I realise how well it helps fill the frame and frame the face.

These shots were taken on my first shoot with a professional model back in the Summer. The three hour booking with Ivory Flame allowed for many changes in lighting, styles of photography and a few costume changes.

This was lit with a Lastolite Hi-Lite behind and a light high up from the front right.

I've gone for a sepia tint here as I felt it prevented the other colours from detracting from the eye contact with model Ivory Flame. I also like the somewhat serious look on her face, you'd never know that the photoshoot was actually a lot of fun.

Ironically we tried quite a few lighting set-ups with model Ivory Flame and somehow the simplest were my favourites. Here she's been lit with a single light, high and to the right, and a touch of a reflector against a plain white background.

I've got many more shots taken from the photoshoot with Ivory Flame, I'll save some for a another time, afterall I don't want to bore you with too many photos of beautiful women. Back to the much more exciting subject of Contemporary Architecture tomorrow.....

This was the first time I've shot with a professional model and I now have great respect for them. Ivory Flame knew just just how to move so that I could keep shooting with very little direction from me. Somehow it felt a bit like cheating when the model is so beautiful and she posed so wonderfully. All I had to do was press the shutter at the right time. This is probably one of the reasons I've tried out so many different post-production techniques, in a (possibly vain) attempt to stamp my particular mark on them.
