This is the shot I was going for yesterday, though to be honest I didn't know the moon was going to be there. When I noticed it was probably going to end up in this position I waited around for it another half hour. Unfortunately the low clouds messed up the moon a bit, and the street lights refused to light up already, and that construction fence has been in the way for half a year... Come back another time I suppose, but couldn't miss the chance to catch the moon. And if you're wondering, the clock says 21:35. And by the way I was balancing on a mooring post made out of stone, tripod extended to its full height, so I could get that clock somewhat in the shot... it's easier in winter when there are no leaves on the trees.

How and why: Was almost impossible to catch the full moon in the forest, but here on the edge it was possible to include... and I really liked the way the two tall and branchless pines framed it here.

How and why: The snow-filled tree and the twigs reaching for the moon. I tried it with both tree and moon in focus, but this way the moon seemed further away, which fit with my idea.

How and why: The red little plant in the sunset light on clear blue water, looking so small and as if it's looking with longing at the moon... and an otherwise quite pleasant view with sunset light and reflections...

I was exploring a place in the lovely Bjärka Säby which I had not been in before, and found some new great places. Just 100 meters from these spruces I came upon a herd of 25 red deer! But of course they caught me first and bolted. I also saw a couple of wood peckers (Greater spotted), and managed to catch one on "film"... a new (old) lovely red barn will also figure in an image or two, winter roads with snow, and at the end a magnificent sunset. Had a great day in the cold.

Since I shared the sunset with you yesterday I figured I'd share the moonset with you this morning. Well, it's more of a moon "fade", but you know what I mean. I don't do a lot of montages, but I felt like trying it out, and you get some different version of the same moon. I think this is from 2 separate images only, both taken at 300mm.

Night on Stångån river. That is the moon trying to rise over Scandic Hotel. Right underneath it on the ground is a group of people partying. It was a saturday night, after all... have a look in large.
