Inverleith Park Fitness Trail

These various largely wooden outdoor exercising constructions have been in place for a year or so, and unlike similar stuff which has occasionally popped up in other parts of the city, don't appear to have suffered vandalism. Perhaps because they're popular & well used. They also have a maintenance budget & get renovated. They're not just popular in themselves. Some people bring along kettle bells, skipping ropes, barbells, etc.. I'm impressed.

I hope by the end of the summer to be able to do the full length of the horizontal ladder :-)

Well, if I try this once a week for a year I might be able to get to the end. Interesting & beneficial experiment.

(I decided against swinging along the bars holding a remote shutter trigger between my teeth, so I used a 10 second shutter delay. It was meant to show me swinging along from bar to bar :-)

Animals with good sight take a very keen interest in any part of the scene which shows strong vertical symmetry. Strong vertical symmetry is rarely found in the inanimate world. It's very often another animal looking at you, which is interesting and quite possibly rather important. So despite the intervening distance cluttered with strolling pigeons and people, we two are looking at each other looking at each other.

White Rhododendron

A few small speckled shafts of sunlight filtering through the high dark evergreen canopy to backlight these flowers on the top of a tall rhododendron bush.

Experimenting with the very shallow DoF of flower portraits with a 500mm lens. The harsh bokeh of a mirror lens is not the best for this kind of glamour portrait of sexual display. But to use a portrait lens I'd have needed a pretty big ladder to get up to these girls. Well, being a male of a species whose females do the glamour thing, I naturally suppose flowers to be female. But as you can see, these "girls" are proudly displaying their male organs.
