this is me today, back in work and knee-deep is CSS related tasks that are bloating my brain.

I think I might cut my hair. :)

Best thing I like about this photo, the processing I designed in Lightroom meant I didn't have to smooth my skin at all in Photoshop. Or maybe I'm having a good skin day thanks to the abundance of fluids I now have coursing through my system. I need a mirror in my room.

Hello to all my Flickr friends. I'm so sorry I dropped off the planet. For those of you that don't know me personally, I've had some health issues recently, so my ability to be near my computer has been severely hampered. :)

My husband, still willing to give me a smile when I whip out my camera, even though he had had a rough day with our daughter. What is it about his face that just always looks good? I can't pull off that closed mouthed relaxed photo thing, and it's quite frustrating...

Processed using my own presets.

In fact, since I've had a few inquiries, I'll send this preset to the first person who can spot the oddity in this photo. :)

This is another time honoured tradition on our walks around the castle. This old water well has been there for at least a couple hundred years I think, since Athlone is a very old garrison town on the River Shannon.

I think each time she goes up to it, she expects water to come out, and always gets disappointed when nothing happens.

Where did she go?

I just love this photo so much. I wanted to do some processing on it, with textures and borders, but the more I played with it, the more the beauty of the moment just needed simplicity.

Recent deluge of music in my photography has made me long to do more still-life detail shots. I've always loved this photo, pulled form last months archive because my computer is holding photoshop hostage and won't let me convert RAW files.

It's a good example to me of how much a lens can alter your image. I didn't notice at the time how much chromatic aberration there is from this lens. And this is the Tamaron. It's a good learning experience, as it was a particularly cloudy day and there wasn't much light, therefore the aperture is wide open, and the shutter speed forced a higher ISO.

So far, my new prime does not appear to have that problem. :)

One of my favourites from a recent gig. After having fulfilled the dream of the bassist who wanted to look like his idol, flea, i was able to do the same for the lead-guitarist who always wanted to look like Slash.

Of course the wig and the hat helps I'm sure...

there's just something about the noise in this photo - which happen to be a happy bit of natural noise - that just makes it for me... I'm not sure why, but I've been drawn to it ever since i took a bit ago.

Maybe someone else can clue me in to why the noise works for the photo? Or maybe I'm delusional and it doesn't work... you tell me. :)

just when i thought i had succeeded in fooling him by taking false shots as i approached from behind his shoulder, he goes and spins his sticks... :)

One of the absolute joys of working at a computer company is that you are always kept well up-to-date with the latest and greatest in technology, which, as a computer-geek myself, quite appeals to my sense of ego and organisation. One of the downsides of working at a computer company is that when you work in the European headquarters for an American company, you have to do three times the amount of work that your American counter-part does, by way of translations for Queen's English, German and French.

Notice it is a Saturday, and I'm talking about work... yep! You guessed it! I'm at work, taking a much needed break, before diving back into tasks related to a top-secret deadline for Monday, and... yep! You guessed again! It's really all America's fault for reasons I really shouldn't babble about here.

This photo I worked on last night as it appropriately depicted my mood towards going into work on a Saturday, which in actuality, I don't really mind, but like to complain about to excess. So here we have a lonely gate bolt, rusted by time and neglect, but still beautiful, as I thought it was when I spotted it a few days ago on an old country road. Like so many things I discover about this culture, it serves it's purpose well, even though no one ever really notices it's there...
