It was only the night before that I was amazed by this sky so full of beautiful twinkling stars. It is now early dawn, the stars have disappeared, the air is refreshing, and it is silent all around me. Gradually the first traces of color start to appear in the clear sky... like some simple paint strokes.

This is the first time I've seen this lovely flower. It is identified as Aquilegia Vulgaris (also known as Columbine, Granny's Nightcap or Granny's Bonnet).

I have no idea of what the name of these flowers is......but what I know is that these flowers are incredibly beautiful and they look like an exquisite and amazing maze to me.

Thanks to my Flickr friends, I have now learned that the name of this flower is "Cleome" :-)

An amazing view of Lake Louise through this beautiful window of a restaurant inside The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. I'm not sure if the food is as good as the view, but I didn't eat there:-)

The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is known as the Diamond in the Wilderness, nestled in the beautiful and serene surroundings of Lake Louise, one of the best known and most spectacular lakes located in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. I was pleased to have stayed at this beautiful and classy resort hotel overnight so that I could take the full moon and sunrise shots. This was taken from one of the easier hiking trails along the shore of the lake in the very early morning, during a visit to the Canadian Rockies.

I finished taking the sunset photos of the English Bay and was heading back to my car. When I turned around I was mesmerized by what I saw from this farther distance, and without hesitation I grabbed my camera again and took this image. I was happy:-)

Emerald Lake

Emerald Lake is the largest lake in Yoho National Park, British Columbia, Canada. The mountains in the background are probably part of the President Range in the Canadian Rockies.

Unfortunately there was a bit of wind at the time when I got there, therefore the reflections were not as crisp and the supposedly turquoise (...or emerald) color of the water was not as eminent. Nonetheless, it is a very beautiful and popular tourist attraction of the National Park.

The narcissus flower is another popular flower for decorating the homes during the Lunar New Year celebrations. It's got a Chinese nickname 凌波仙子 which means "Fairy of the Water", appropriately describing its elegance and beauty. I love it because of its light colors as well as its pleasant fragrance.

A view of the beautiful Stanley Park in Vancouver one early morning...taken beside the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club club house. Royal Vancouver Yacht Club has a history of 100+ years, but the Stanley Park has a history even longer than the Club.

That Golden Moment [Explore]

This was the magic moment of sunrise at Lake Louise that I had been waiting for, with the first glimpse of the golden sun rays reflecting on the magnificent Victoria Glacier in the backdrop. As you can see, the clouds were very heavy around the area and the sun actually disappeared within a couple of minutes' time.

Lake Louise is one of the best known and most spectacular lakes located in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. The emerald color of the water comes from "rock flour" carried into the lake by melt-water from Victoria Glacier.

When my son turned into a teenager, I gave him a book titled: "Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul" as a gift for one of his birthdays. And when I retired, which was about 5 years ago, he gave me a book as my retirement gift, which is called "Chicken Soup for the Golden Soul"....hmm. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and some of the stories were truly amazing. Among all the quotes in the book, I find the above particularly inspiring, and just like to share it with you all, regardless of whether you're over 60 or under:-)
