In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, the iconic Las Vegas sign has changed the bulbs from their usual flashing yellow to pink.

Hubby and I decided to brave the mob of tourists just to get a few shots. Could have done a bit better on this shot but I still like it. =)

Funny story about shooting this sign today:

There was some crazy lady across the street babbling up a storm. Most of it was gibberish but one of the things I overheard was:

"Damn undercover police. Just go away! We don't need you!"

Some seriously crazy nonsense coming from that woman. Hubby wasn't paying much attention but I was listening.

Evidence of the former cafe was around but you really had to look for it. I've been wanting to get this sign for months but for some reason never stopped to get it. I made it a point to get it this road trip.

When I first photographed this location with hubby in Oro Grande along Route 66 in November 2011 two semi-trucks were parked here making it difficult to get a halfway decent shot. This time, I was excited to find them gone making for a better shot. Downside is that it was ridiculously hot so shooting fast was necessary.
