I appreciate that they are certainly long dead - Oxford University was founded in 1096 and I daresay the literature review swiftly followed - and I am definitely not about to go punching mouldering corpses, but still, I hope it was a nasty death. Perhaps by some medieval scholar smashing their brain in with a weighty tome the poor student was in the process of reviewing.
