A shot of the floating, interactive artwork "Liquid Archive" by the Nader Tehrani with the Boston skyline across the Charles River in the background. (Spells out the letters "MIT"," btw, in case you didn't notice.)

The light and color of the "MIT" letters kept constantly changing, which made it quite challenging to capture.

It was part of a series of light-related art organized as part of the Festival of Art + Science + Technology and installed on and around the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) campus in celebration of MIT's 150th anniversary (MIT150 + FAST Arts).

I recommend that you click on the image to view it on a black background. I find that it's easier to see the detail that way.

This was taken from the Cambridge side of the Charles RIver. The water was like glass that night.

At this location, most people point the camera the other way to take a photo of the striking Zakim Bridge. But the sun was going down, so I thought I'd turn around and see what I could see. So, here it is.

Taken from the Charles River shore in Cambridge.

That greenish-yellow streak on the bridge (and reflected in the water) is a Red Line MBTA train heading from Cambridge into Boston.

The deep blue of the night sky is the result of the especially bright light from the "super moon," which is not visible in the frame but is just off to the left.

(Click the image to view it on a black background. Looks much better on black, in my opinion.)

This a shot of the "super moon" rising over the Zakim Bridge in Boston taken from North Point Park in Cambridge, MA.

Seems like pretty much anyone interested in night photography in the Boston area (including me) gets a shot of this bridge at one time or another, but I think that the super moon adds a little something extra. It seemed particularly brighter than normal.

Last night was the night of the so-called "super moon," so I decided to walk along the Charles River in Cambridge, MA, to see if I might be able to catch the moon moving its way across the Boston skyline. This is one of the results.

To be honest, it didn't look all that different than any other full moon, but boy was it bright!
