Just today I have planned the next survey campaign here... so it means: I am going to be here again soon, but also that the holidays are near to the end, but it will be a pleasant end ;-)

Original shot taken with a Revere Eyematic EE127 on an expired (1953) Agfa black and white film. Almost no post processing, just scanned. The scratches and the spots on the image are due to the decay of the film.

Marzio Curzio

Giorgio Verdiani posted a photo:

This picture was taken in Carrara, along the Carriona Road, it is quite curious to meet here a statue directly inspired by a Roman legend, the one about Marzio Curzio:

According to the legend, in 362 b.C., in the area of the "Foro Romano" in Rome, a huge abyss suddenly appeared and it started immediately sucking people and things. The wise men said that the only way to have that disaster resolved was to throw inside the most precious thing that the Roman people had. A patrician, named Marzio Curzio came in place of the abyss and he declared "the most precious things Rome has are her warriors!" And so he jumped with his horse inside the abyss, from the large hole came out flames and sounds of a battle and then the abyss collapsed. Later the Roman built a platform on that place and called it LACUS CURTIUS.

The statue here is simply called "Cavallo"/"horse" by the local people.

Original shot taken with a Polaroid Land Camera 450 on Fujifilm FP-100C silk instant film, almost no post processing, just scanned.

oh, what a nice day, just some months ago, at the beginning of spring. Walking along the Canopo pool, trying some original way to portrait these well known statues...

Original shot taken with a Revere Eyematic EE127 on an expired (1953) Agfa black and white film. Almost no post processing, just scanned. The scratches and the spots on the image are due to the decay of the film.
