An eagle on the tree would have been nice (!) but thou can't have it all.<br /> I am still testing out the 5DIII. It's quite nice to use, but it's best to get exposure spot on in camera. There is a fair bit of shadow detail that can be recovered, but after certain point (2-3 stops in the extreme) there is suddenly lots of noise and banding. Keeping the filters clear was a big struggle. The good old grey cloud was a company yet again.<br /> This is the first landscape shot with the new 5D3, after a wedding last saturday. I am not sure the IQ is a massive improvement over 1Ds mark II (which I am keeping and will be using as a backup or 2nd body), just some nice refinements all round. I fear the grip may be inevitable as I now struggle with 5D being so light and small in my hands, particularly when I need to shoot in portrait orientation.<br /> <br /> My excellent 1D mark III is now looking for new home.
