These 3 Warao boys stopped bathing in the Orinoco Delta waters so i could photograph them. This portrait of all 3 boys still shows the ater dripping off their bodies.

These 3 Warao boys stopped playing and bathing in the water so watch me walk a tree trunk to come photograph them. Here they are sitting, relaxing in the afternoon sun.

Depression

This quiet Warao woman gave me a forced smile a couple times, but the rest of the time had this quite depressed look on her face. Most of the Warao I encountered were always smiling and laughing (even if not in photos though, they seem to go stone-faced for the camera)

These 2 boys are playing in the waters of the Orinoco Delta. The wood pole he is holding onto is part of his house's stilts (the hosues commonly are built partially over the delta).

This group pf Warao children gather around a wooden support and laugh hysterically as i take many photos of them. Since they all seem to get a stoic, emotionless face when i shoot...getting them laughing and having fun (which is what they do when the camera is down) was quite a project.
