the Hawaiians call it kihikihi, and it is "the classic coral reef fish", according to Hoover's Hawaii fish guide. It's always great to see these guys. This was on the outside of the reef at Ke'e, where the Na Pali Coast begins.

Mets catcher Henry Blanco catches the ball in mid-leap and prepares to apply the tag to Giants baserunner Travis Ishikawa in a tie game, bottom of the ninth inning.
The umpire called Ishikawa out, but replays put that call into serious dispute. The Mets went on to win the game in extra innings.

There are two owls, so I suppose the other shot could be the other owl.

after the flickr gathering, gail and I went over to the ballpark and caught the thrilling bottom of the ninth inning. Just after this photo was taken, the pitcher threw a wild pitch and the Giants' winning run scored from third.
