I like the expression of resilience on the little doxie on the red leash while his owner is petting a street dog.

I do spot a collar on the black & tan dog, so not sure if he is actually a street dog - though it is not uncommon for dogs who roam around one particular apartment building to be "claimed" by its owners, collared, fed and taken care of by them, even if, technically, they would still be street dogs.

As for the theme itself - I find the iPhone to be the perfect camera for street photography - it allows you to be as inconspicuous as you need to be, no need to raise it to your eye and become obvious in your actions - I was holding the phone at chest level here and simply pressing the shutter via the volume button to the side of the phone.

Since it uses by default a small aperture and a wide angle lens, you end up with the entire scene in focus, unlike what would have happened with a DSLR. True, you can create shallow depth of field with the iPhone by tapping on a focus point, but if you don't do that, it captures the entire scene in perfect focus.

From this summer in Bucharest - I spotted this dog napping under a car so of course I called him, and he politely acknowledged me, then went right back to sleep :)

And no, I cannot pass a street dog without calling them or trying to pet them. People do look strangely at me, as most of them are just used to seeing these stray dogs as part of the scenery - you wouldn't call a goose or a pigeon in a city, would you?

Today was the annual Barker Days event, where the swimming pool goes to the dogs for one day only.

We had a blast, played in the water, and also ran into Courtney (RileyMai) and Milo from the 52 Weeks Group!

Ouzo was smiling the entire day, but I chose this frame instead of a deliriously happy one just because his expression makes me burst out laughing.

Chris had just thrown him the ball in the pool and I think another dog snatched it. So here he's asking me for help locating his beloved ball, I caught him mid-turn as you can tell by his lips and ears :)))

Diver at Casa Bonita

Last weekend we went for the first time to Casa Bonita, the popular Mexican restaurant in Denver, made even more famous by the South Park cartoon. (which, for the record, I don't watch).

It was a company function, not our choice, but was quite an experience.

Really bad microwave-type food, entraitainment directed at 3-5 year olds, very low light so I had to trully push the limits on my camera to get any usable shots.

But at least I can now say I've been to Casa Bonita. And never going back there again :P

Photomatix, HDR out of one image "forced" into 3 different exposures.

Processed a bit further in Lightroom for noise reduction and a touch of orange saturation adjustments as they were shining bright and loud :)
