This was a drawing that had issues when I first started it, but I manged to correct them even though it was all in pen. Luckily, the finished drawing came out the way I originally intended it to look.

This is a sketch from memory of my apartment complex in Laguna Beach. I remember the stairs especially well because I had to carry all my furniture, including a refrigerator, both up and down the stairs to the apartment in the top-left of the drawing.

I hope to rescan this one soon, as it is a very fuzzy scan currently. I'm looking for all my pictures from the Via Colori shows I've done, since the 2007 show will be coming up in September. It takes a really long time to cover a 10 by 10 foot area with pastels, I'm working on a way this year of accelerating the color-fill time so I can concentrate on the design itself. Hey, how come that drawing doesn't have any grid enlargement lines?

Again, the family resemblance is fairly obvious... genetics are cool!

This isn't a design for an entire painting, rather it is a sketch for an element of a very complex painting. I am working on a new series of colorful sketches for paintings that should be photo'd and available for upload soon. I may be able to get several uploaded at once.

This is a wood sculpture design, the direction of the lines indicates the grain of the wood. It would probably also work as a mobile.

Another abstract design for a painting. I only used grid paper for a little while, but I produced a couple of my favorite compositions leveraging its light blue, repeating background.

1/31/07 Study for Square Painting With Cartoon Area

This is a design for a new square series painting. This painting would have a cartoon area near the top center (note the black/white in that area vs. the shades everywhere else). I am not sure exactly how this will look when finished, but the painting itself is in progress in my studio. It currently doesn't look much like this, but when it's done, it should be a fairly striking likeness.

This abstract green sculpture was made with an existing rendering engine, I was especially interested that the shadow design in the corner that's a digital artifact of the rendering process. The new render engine I have should be able to render this and not produce the artifacts.

This is a finished colored pencil rendering of a cliff scene, it's actually fairly large for a sketch, around 11" square. It is also a design for a gigantic painting, but I don't have room right now to complete the 52" square canvas.

This is a drawing of the CCAD (Columbus, OH) campus with a church steeple. I freehanded this while I had to wait for a few minutes in the lobby of a building across the street, which happens to have large plate glass windows.
