Image was made in total darkness with the shutter open at f.11 with 3- 150w/s monolites that were turned on and fired individually by a digital camera hooked to a PC cord that I held as I went to the different positions. Three rolls of film and three days later I got this image that I had in my mind. You can see the PC cords in two areas if you look close.

April 15,2012
Combination lens test and painting with light. I have painted in total darkness with hot lights but never with strobes. This is in my basement in total darkness, lens at f.22 with a Flashpoint 150ws. Monolite strobe using multiple flashes . I used a black card to cover the lens when I needed to walk in front of the camera. Lighting was from front and right side. 5 flashes from the front in random positions & 7 flashes from the right. Lens seems sharp too.
