So I haven't been shooting much those last months, years... for many personal reasons... but I've been listening to a lot of electronic music lately - and have been "clubbing" (i hate this word) in order to experience "live" some djs' works i have been admiring for a little decade now or younger ones I have discovered during this electronic trip.

Why electronic music ? Well... I got tired of the other style of music that are slowly dying in their genre graves, repeating or mimicking ideas from the past rather than innovating, satisfying listeners who prefer pleasing their ears with reassuring melodies rather than experiencing/exploring new, unknown - sometimes discomforting musical areas. (...and maybe producers who have the guts to gamble much with their money)

I've been discovering a both fascinating and swarming community of musicians working hard to push further the limits of melody and music patterns, deconstructing or revolutionizing musical construction/architecture. With contemporary classic music and jazz, i find electronic music one of the freest music ever produced.

To get back to this picture ; I took it in a night-club that took me 2 hours of travel to reach. The DJ's stage name portrayed here is Wild Aspect, but i know him more closely as Luc. We used to study together, 10 years ago.

At the time I got to know him, he was passionate, uncompromising - sometimes violently enraging against the mediocrity of the world we were living in or the so-low level of rigorousness people would raise to themselves... We were "grown teens" facing the "old world". I was admiring his integrity despite being much softer - in appearance. He was djeeing in his student room, on his spare-time, and introduced me to electronic music.

So here we are 10 years later, my old buddy still digging his passion for music, occasionally djeeing in front of hundreds of people, and even more randomly along with quite renowned djs and music composers - but most of all being as honest and upstanding as he used to be the first day i met him.

Sometimes we don't change that much through the years, hopefully it is for the best.
