I haven't done much night photography - I hate carrying a tripod around for starters - but the moon at the end of 2009 was fabulous. So I went out armed with a gorillapod- - which seemed to work quite well, though I didn't try anything longer than about 10 second exposures - it was too freezing cold to stay still!!

Go large here (thanks for putting the link in lower down, Anu - I didn't get chance this morning. You are a real star!!)

April certainly lived up to its name for being showery - in fact it has been the wettest one on record in some parts of England, so it has been rather more than just 'showery! Thankfully we did get some sun too.

A weird sky and fast disappearing light. I liked the way all the clouds and the farm road seemed to heading to the same point.

stormy weather

Yesterday afternoon we had a succession of thunderstorms with the odd bit of brightness thrown in. Sunlight catches the rooftops of the terrace in which we live and the trees too, whilst the sky is an ominous threatening black. Straight off the card - only manipulation is to reduce filesize.

The day had been sunny and it closed in spectacular fashion with a fabulous sunset as we left Batsfjord, which is one of the major landing centres for the Norwegian fishing industry. Unfortunately we weren't in a position to see the sun dip below the horizon but the light on the clouds more than made up for it. However, this was the calm before the proverbial storm.

A break from the Norway shots to something very much closer to home. We had gone for a look at the bluebells in Odell Great Wood and as we came out of the wood on our way back home this was the view.
