the first night we spent in copenhagen it snowed about an inch or so. i woke up really early - my body clock was way off - so I took a walk around and stumbled upon a neat little park that these steps were in.

This was a tower on one of the bridges over the water. The bridges have to raise in order to allow larger boats underneath.

i took this picture from a path just west of our study site, which is a large open common. apparently the site used to be used by the military, and there might be some live ammunition in the common. I haven't been able to translate the sign well, it says "------ facilities forbidden"

most of the trees growing around our site are european birches. they are pretty right now, even without leaves, as the have the white bark and reddish twigs.

this is the open common on the west side of our site. there are water channels the cross the common, as it used to be ocean, and was damned and pumped out, but is still pretty marshy.

this was the concourse our flight to copenhagen left from. As you can see from the picture, there was nobody else on the entire concourse. In fact, our flight was the only one that left from it for about 7 hours. by the time we left, i was pretty thirsty and hungry-there wasn't any food venders on the concourse either.

this was taken just north of our site, but still in the ørestad development. There are currently construction a lot of new buildings there, all in very modern looking styles.

i went for a walk one morning and came across this well lit building
