Our company is having our Christmas Lunch today. It almost does not feel the right time to do anything that is Christmas yet! Although we have it every year at this time.

So I will try and get to your photostrams later tonight else I will be back on Monday.

I once was a safe haven

Nature taking over at Kolmanskop.

I used one of my Textures.

I actually tried to keep track of what I did in this image so here goes:
I used Paintshop Pro 8. And a copy of my original image.

I created a new layer by duplicating the image.

I set the blend mode of this new layer to 'Mulitply'

I then merge the layers and by using Hue and Saturation settings turned it into a B&W image.

I adjusted the shadows and highlights to get a more intense contrast using the Highlight/Midtone/Shadows option. (I think you can use curves too)

Then I added the texture as a new layer and set the blend mode to overlay.

After that I played around with the opacity of the texture and used the Lighten/Darken brush to slightly adjust some of the shadows and highlights.

And that about it. Not the world's best write up but hopefully it will be useful to someone.
