Mussenden Temple

Mussenden Temple was built in 1784 as a Library by a Mr Michael Shanahan. It is perched on the cliffs overlooking the Irish Sea near Castlerock in County Antrim Northern Ireland.

It was an uninspiring day weather wise, but good for scouting some new locations. I will definitely be back, with hopefully better lighting conditions.

While waiting for the sun to dip towards the horizon, I sat watching the hundreds of people clambering over the rocks at this UNESCO World Heritage Site. As the day drew to a close and the last shuttle left, only a few stragglers remained to catch the best light of the day.

While chatting to the several photographers roaming the rocks I was surprised by where they had all come from, there were a few from Ireland (obviously), as well as England, but one couple (on honeymoon!) were from Hawaii, and another gent was from Namibia - it is indeed a small world these days....
