Driving back to our Hotel at the end of another fantastic day's exploration and photography, the sky was aglow with beauty and wonderful hues as the sun began to sink. Not far from Coniston water, we made the dash, arriving there with everyone having left for the day, the scene to ourselves with this sky as a reward.

This view has Derwent Island House directly behind us as we traverse the beautiful open pasture in which resides the old lightning tree that has long been a good friend of mine.
