Mosteiro Santa Maria da Vitória, more commonly known as the Batalha Monastery, is a Dominican convent in Batalha, in the District of Leiria, Portugal. It is one of the best and original examples of Late Gothic architecture in Portugal, intermingled with the Manueline style.
The convent was built to thank the Virgin Mary for the Portuguese victory over the Castilians in the battle of Aljubarrota in 1385, fulfilling a promise of King John I of Portugal. The battle put an end to the 1383-1385 crisis.

O Mosteiro de Santa Maria da Vitória (mais conhecido como Mosteiro da Batalha situa-se na Batalha, Portugal, e foi mandado edificar em 1386 por D.João I de Portugal como agradecimento à Virgem Maria pela vitória na Batalha de Aljubarrota. Este mosteiro dominicano foi construído ao longo de dois séculos até cerca de 1517, durante o reinado de sete reis de Portugal, embora desde 1388 já ali vivessem os primeiros dominicanos. Exemplo da arquitectura gótica tardia portuguesa, ou estilo manuelino, é considerado património mundial pela UNESCO, e em 7 de Julho de 2007 foi eleito como uma das sete maravilhas de Portugal. Em Portugal, o IPPAR ainda classifica-o como Monumento Nacional, desde 1910.

Cabo da Roca was known to the Romans as Promontorium Magnum and during the Age of Sail as the Rock of Lisbon.
The 16th century Portuguese poet Luís de Camões described Cabo da Roca as the place "where the land ends and the sea begins".
The cape is located within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, 42 kilometres northwest of the urbanized area of Lisbon and 18 kilometres northwest of Sintra. Its location is inscribed on a stone plaque, located on a monument at the site.

O Cabo da Roca é o ponto mais ocidental de Portugal continental, assim como da Europa continental. Situa-se na freguesia de Colares, concelho de Sintra e distrito de Lisboa. O local é visitável, não até ao extremo mas até uma zona à altitude de 140 m. O cabo forma o extremo ocidental da Serra de Sintra, precipitando-se sobre o Oceano Atlântico.

Lagoa do Fogo (English: Lagoon of Fire) is a crater lake within the Agua de Pau stratovolcano in the center of the island of São Miguel Island in the Azores. The governmental authorities do not allow any modern construction around this lake. This lake is the highest above sea level on São Miguel Island.

A lagoa do Fogo, ocupa a grande caldeira de vulcão adormecido do fogo. Este vulcão dá forma ao grande maciço vulcânico da Serra de Água de Pau, localizado no centro da Ilha de São Miguel. Todas esta zona é rodeado por uma densa e exuberante vegetação endémica.

Esta caldeira vulcânica, tal como o vulcão que lhe deu forma é a mais jovem da Ilha de São Miguel e ter-se-á formado há cerca de 15 000 anos. A sua configuração actual é resultado do último colapso, tido como importante e que ocorreu no topo do vulcão, há aproximadamente 5 mil anos. A última erupção data de 1563.

Furnas, ilha de São Miguel Açores.
Zona dos cozidos, onde os ingredientes são cozinhados debaixo da terra sob o calor dos vulcões (a carne demora cerca de 5 a 6 horas e o bacalhau cerca de 3 a 4 horas). Este facto faz salientar um requintado sabor. Esta localidade possui uma das maiores e mais diversificadas colecções botânicas do arquipélago.

Zone of boiling, where the ingredients are cooked underground in the heat of volcanoes (the meat will take about 5 to 6 hours and cod about 3 to 4 hours). This does highlight an exquisite flavor. This place has one of the largest and most diverse botanical collections of the archipelago.
