It probably isn't wise to admit it, but I do miss the Zuccotti Park People's Library, and it is creepy to see the crime scene tape that occupies the space now. In terms of alternate libraries in the area of Lower Manhattan, The Federal Reserve website lists a research library with "limited public access." I called up to see what the limits were and they told me there is "no public access." On Murray Street, about 7 blocks north of Zuccotti, there is a small public library (The New Amsterdam Library) which I haven't visited yet.
