First outing for a new compact digital camera - Sony WX100 which is currently going cheap. It's tiny and has 10x optical zoom, but for the size and price it's OK, I think, as long as you don't expect anything like the 18MP they promise.. more like 5-6MP, I'd say.

It struggles a lot in areas of the same colour - no detail at all, just smudges - whereas in high contrast areas like the ends of branches against the sky, it's actually pretty good.

I think I'm going to struggle to get any club competition entries from it which is a shame, as it fits inside a coat pocket beautifully.

Splendidly awful test roll from my Agfa Clack - this is the last roll of Chinese film I have and I won't be buying any more of this brand as the emulsion reacts with the backing paper to leave it all blotchy with numbers and circles.

My partner brought me home this camera having picked it up cheap in a charity shop - the same partner who complains about me having too many cameras :)

Not only am I having sticky shutter problems, I also dropped the camera so it landed on the 50mm lens, which is now misaligned as you can see by the blurry top edges.. *sigh* - at least it was the cheapest of my "proper" lenses.

From the same night I had a different fault with a different film and a different camera. I guess I was just not destined to get a great shot that night!

This is just old, expired film - sometimes you get nice old-fashioned colours. Sometimes it just goes wrong...

Whitstable's most pointless sign. Cycling is banned on the promenade, not that anyone pays any attention (not even local councillors..).

The latest plan is to make it a national cycle route (!) - I'm all for cycling but I think this plan is madness with young kids and dogs running around on and off the beach.

This was taken at the same time as my Belair shots. This tiny section of 35mm film, scanned at 3 times the resolution of the Belair shots, is at least as sharp, if not sharper.

I've uploaded the full resolution just so you can compare. This is actually a crop of the original to straighten the horizon.

Also worth looking at to see the resolution of Agfaphoto Vista Plus 200 film, available at £1 per roll from Poundland - nice colours, reasonable grain.. not at all a bad film.

A crowd gathered on the beach to watch the tug-of-war matches in the mud flats of Whitstable as part of the Oyster Festival

Same roll of film as the last batch and so still over-sharpened due to poor scanner settings on my part.. I might get around to rescanning these, maybe :)

That Helios lens is definitely prone to these lens flares at sunset - happened the same with some other shots of mine.

This batch is all horribly over-sharpened, I need to rescan from scratch, unfortunately, as I left the "unsharp mask" turned on from my earlier 120 scanning. *sigh*.
