Never-before-seen image from my hot air balloon ride over Seminole, which was part of the town's centennial celebration. I would put this experience in the top 10 best days of my life.

Saw quite a few structures like this from the air.

Using my wife's Nikon, I took pictures of all my gear, using an old T-shirt as the white background. This is what I was working with in mid-2006, and it was quite a capable lineup for me in my job as a small-town journalist. All I was really missing at the time was a super-wide angle lens and a low-light telephoto lens.

Here, we were just above the playground at Wilson Elementary School. Those colored dots are the kids who ran out to see the balloon passing overhead. I think the red dot near the center was one of my nephews.

The Bowlegs marching band and flag corps performs at halftime.

The Bowlegs Bison opened their season with a 48-0 loss to the Caddo Bruins. The game ended late in the third quarter on the "mercy rule."

Burning trash. Before you get on your high horse, note that many rural areas do not have access to weekly trash pickup service and have little choice. Not long after this image was taken, trash pickup service *was* made available in this locality.
