I think this is what my friend John would refer to as soft focus - basically I messed up focussing, but I still felt this captured US city downtown feel despite it's lack of technical merit.

Spent ages photographing the gulls chasing our ferry across the bay of Helsinki.

My kit was just right - wonderful low depth of field on the Sigma picking out the birds, and using the 7Ds full complement of AF points to catch them as they zoomed around. It's never about the kit, but sometimes it helps :)

I kinda like this shot, but it was hard to get the sandcastle to stand out from the background, so a little unhappy with it too.

First post with my new Sigma 30mm f/1.4, which is to replace the Canon 50mm f/1.4 I've been using for the last year. Looking forward to a lot of use from this lens :)
