After processing my last take I decided to revisit this location by night and see how it contrasts with the previous. This image was taken between embarcadero 2-3. Golden Gate 75th Anneversary

I went up to san francisco tonight to attend the golden gate bridge 75th anniversary celebration which ended this evening with fireworks. I've been hearing news reports from many different local media the last few weeks regarding the celebration so when I got off at 3pm today I raced up to the city expecting to fight through the crowds to get this shot. when I finally arrived I was pleasantly surprised as the city wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting and there were far less people than I anticipated. Anyways I managed to find a parking spot right at the top of the hill, hiked up the trail to the Marin headlands and got set up. I met a few really great people up there in the line of the tens of tripods set up and waiting but after braving the cold and the wind for the last four hours of daylight this is what I ended up with from tonight.

I may post a couple more in the days that follow.

This photo was taken on Sunday May 27, 2012. Today marks the 75th anniversary of the golden gate bridge. Tonight the bridge was shut down for an hour during the fireworks celebrating the event. I've never seen the bridge empty until tonight, though an hour later and cars were back in route.

This image is far different from my typical style and subject matter from what it seems as of late. Tonight I was driving home from down town and saw a massive amount of smoke and the orange glow. I continued my drive for another five miles and tuned right exiting the freeway at my normal stop as i would typically do every other night, I saw the signal flare, much closer, as I turned the corner to drive down the final street before arriving home I was stopped by emergency personnel and flashing lights - Everywhere. The blaze was enormous. it seemed a local business had caught fire. So of course, me being me I parked in a haste, ran for the trunk, and pulled a tripod and my equipment before running down the street. I mean, could you blame me? I hardly think any of my fellow photographers would react any different, Fortunate for myself that I had my photo equipment in the car with me today.
