Like if it was science fiction picture, but all is real. Taken from Tour Montparnasse 200 meters above the ground.

Eiffel Tower is in the front, in the dark, while the business district of La Défense is getting a last ray of light.

After a day at work in Paris, and having had the good idea to bring camera and tripod with me, I decided to go on the top of Tour Montparnasse in order to get the best panoramic view of Paris at sunset. Day was bad, raining all afternoon, but I saw on radar websites that it should improve at sunset, so I did.
Well, to be honest, never I'd have had expected such conditions. The sky started to turn on all the colors on the palette and I got one of the most beautiful sunset of my life, at the same time being at the right place to enjoy and capture it.

So here is the result, no post treatment other than slight work on saturation and highlights, this picture is exactly what I saw, and it was just gorgeous, I was breathless.

Love the relation between past and present in Luxembourg, in the foreground you have the past with the Grund suburb and in the background (top right) you have the present with European Union institutions with the skyscrapers.

Luxembourg is a really beautiful city, and at night there is a kind of undescriptible feeling ... but well, at some point I think it's probably love :-), yes I can say that in some way I love that city.

I spent a full evening walking around the City of Luxembourg, trying to capture some nice night shots with that snow covering the roofs around.
This ended to be a wonderful and exciting evening. Atmosphere was so quiet, no one around, except some people talking loudly out of some bars in the Grund.

I really enjoyed and loved it. Luxembourg is a really wonderful city during the day, but it ends to be even more attracting at night. The old city sight is just like going back 300-400 years in the past with all those old buildings, but at the same time being so modern. I love that contrast, and I really enjoy this wonderful city, for more than 7 years now, it's definitely part of me and can't have enough of such a great feeling.

Neumünster Abbey is a public meeting place and cultural centre, located in the Grund district of Luxembourg City in southern Luxembourg. After the original Benedictine Abbey on the Altmünster Plateau had been destroyed in 1542, the monks built a new abbey or Neumünster in 1606 in the Grund. This in turn was destroyed by fire in 1684 but was rebuilt on the same site in 1688 and extended in 1720. After the French revolution, it served as a police station and prison before becoming a barracks for the Prussians after Napoleon's defeat in 1815. From 1867, it once again became a state prison.[1] Since 1997, it has been the home of the European Institute of Cultural Routes. During World War II, the Nazis used the Abbey to imprison political resisters to their occupation of Luxembourg. Among the most notable of those political prisoners was Luxembourg's best-known sculptor Lucien Wercollier.
Following extensive renovation works, Neumünster was opened to the public in May 2004 as a meeting place and a cultural centre (www.ccrn.lu). It hosts concerts, exhibitions, and seminars. The Abbey is also now home to the Lucien Wercollier Cloister, where many works from the sculptor's private collection are permanently displayed.
Bulgaria and Romania signed their Treaty of Accession on April 25, 2005 at Neumünster.

The Walls of Dubrovnik (Croatian: Dubrovačke gradske zidine) are a series of defensive stone walls that have surrounded and protected the citizens of the afterward proclaimed maritime city-state of Dubrovnik (Ragusa), situated in southern Croatia, since the city's founding prior to the 7th century as a Byzantium castrum on a rocky island named Laus (Ragusia or Lave). With numerous additions and modifications throughout their history, they have been considered to be amongst the great fortification systems of the Middle Ages, as they were never breached by a hostile army during this time period. In 1979, the old city of Dubrovnik, which includes a substantial portion of the old walls of Dubrovnik, joined the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
