It never follows that the pictures I like, others like... but I'm really happy with this. I think it's reminiscent of an old oil painting.

Ryde Pier on the Isle of Wight, off the South coast of Hampshire England.

Young lads queue to take their turn in diving from the victorian pier into the Solent waters below.

A catamaran has just arrived and those people collecting travellers are driving up and down the wooden pier surface to collect them.

The boy standing on the railing was about to leap, when his friend in white shorts "jumped" the queue, running across the pier from the far side, leaping over the railing and off out into the wide blue yonder.

Apple Cottage, home sweet home. Most of the exterior dates from 1606 but we understand that some of the interior may date back as far as the 1300s.

My apologies to those who have already been bored with earlier incarnations of this image. I have tried to process the shot more naturally, trying to achieve a more 3 dimentional feel.
