Nothing like a six mile hike along a foggy coast with a good friend knowing that grilled ribs, salmon, salads, and wine will be waiting at the end. I just realized that a fisherman in a kayak was attacked by a great white shark the day before right off where we were standing. Did not see any sea creatures that day, though, only surfers who didn't seem to care too much.

I became totally fascinated with these wonderful birds as I spent several hours observing them off the coast by Half Moon Bay yesterday. They are truly beautiful so brace yourselves for a few pelican shots in the days to come. LARGE is better.
