Beautiful evening last night in the Borders so had a run out in the car. The Meadow Pipts were hovering, almost humming bird like, not far outside my car window, making for a great photo oppourtunity. I was really pleased with some of the shots I managed like this one.

Numbers have declined rapidly over the past couple of decades in the UK (So I keep being told) No idea what the reason is for that. They have large numbers at Sandbach Flashes but I have never seen them anywhere else. Lovely colourful little birds, much nicer markings than the more common House Sparrow in my opinion.
