Sunday, April 21st
An insanely warm day!

It's practically summer in Sri Lanka, I decided to pay a visit to an old church in Pettah. It's home to a multi-complex street sale with an intriguing ambiance suggesting a post-apocalyptic street lane lying somewhere between the lakes of Chernobyl. The church looked almost abandoned and I was in much need of adequate light. Thanks to a couple of noise reduction filters and a few photoshop tricks, I was able to get a neat little 3 way photo combination with great exposure stops. Ended my day with a scrumptious/tummy-rumbling (Yes, it's that good) dish of Indian food served at Sri Vihar.

I found him lying under a food cart the other day, cornered to the benches so he could possibly avoid human contact. He was severely injured.

This was taken during the day I came across the abandoned train track. The sloppy little critter was twirling across the line cracks hoping to pull out a distorting camouflage as I gently approached its territory. Not to mention, this was the inside of the engine! I felt quite oblivious as I walked past the holders, the whacked up metal scraps couldn't hold anything less but a scour pair of engines.. but then again, I was wrong. Beneath the tin can lumps, rests a mighty legged spider. 6 legs to be precise. Or is it 7? Anyways, it could've be your "everyday" garden spider but trust me, I freaked the crap out of myself the first time I saw this.

So, it was just another ordinary day, me and my chaps decided to pay a visit to the local park. As the rendezvous began, we decided to look for something a bit out of ordinary. As we ventured among the deeper, the darker, the places no one would dare set foot on *note the cliche*, we miraculously just happened to stumble upon a broken down train track. The engine isn't obviously at it's best shape and so we decided to experiment.

As I walked in towards the train, with adoration in my eyes for the next big picture moment, I came across this young lad, looking memorized at the giant toy. I knew what his little mind was going through, and thus, I sensed an opportunity. Without a moment's hesitation, and the kid, still at the brink of his train fantasying about his well-packed ride, I took a couple of shots featuring the little guy and his passionate emotions towards trains (We all had this feeling when we were little). This was pretty much everything I came across during my visit to the park.

The Vesak Festival (in Sri Lanka) is something completely different and unique. It's out of the box and has a lot of variety. The festival was celebrated last week. I'll upload me pictures tomorrow. Have a great week. :)
