This is how we travel during six hours journey from Jodhpur The Blue City to Jaipur The Pink City. It's a great experience that we will cherished in a lifetime.

AC-Two tier : Air conditioned coaches with sleeping berths, ample leg room, curtains and individual reading lamps. Berths are usually arranged in two tiers in bays of six, four across the width of the coach then the gangway then two berths longways, with curtains provided to give some privicy from those walking up and down. Bedding is included with the fare. A broad gauge coach can carry 48 passengers.

Taj Mahal | Run or Get Burned

These people run like crazy because the floor is too hot for the feet, the temperature here is approximately more than 45 degrees, so you can imagine how hot it is. Just for your information, we can't use shoes here. They are not running from anything but trying not to stay too long on the floor, it might burned their feet.

Photo taken from the roof top of our hotel in Taj Ganj. We just manage to captured few shots of Taj Mahal in Sunset before leaving Agra for New Delhi. Actually our Auto Rick Shaw driver or "rider" already waiting for us downstairs while we are still busy capturing the last light of the sunset. We just don't want to miss a moment.

In order to get here, the other side of Taj Mahal across Yamuna River, we have to take Auto Rick Shaw that charge us Indian Rupee 350 per Auto Rick Shaw from Taj Ganj and took almost 45 minutes to get here. We have to pay another Indian Rupee 100 ( Apprx USD 2) per person for entrance fee to get inside this location. This is a perfect pace to capture Taj Mahal bath in sunset or sunrise if the weather was good. Unfortunately for us, the weather wasn't on our side.

Mehrangarh Fort, located in Jodhpur city in Rajasthan state is one of the largest forts in India.

The fort is situated on a lofty height, 400 feet (122 m) above the city, and is enclosed by imposing thick walls. Inside its boundaries there are several palaces, which are known for their intricate carvings and sprawling courtyards. A meandering road leads to and from the city below. Battle scars of cannon ball hits by attacking armies of Jaipur can still be seen on the second gate. To the left of the fort is the chhatri of Kirat Singh Soda, a soldier who fell on the spot defending the Mehrangarh fort.

There are seven gates, which include Jayapol meaning victory built by Maharaja Man Singh to commemorate his victories over Jaipur and Bikaner armies. Fattehpol also meaning victory gate was built by Maharaja Ajit Singh to mark the defeat of Mughals. The palm imprints still attract devotional attention and are covered by vermilion paste and paper-thin silver foil.

The museum in the Mehrangarh fort is one of the finest museums in Rajasthan and certainly the best laid out. In the palanquin section of the fort museum, you can see an interesting collection of old royal palanquins including the elaborate domed gilt Mahadol palanquin, which was won in a battle from the Governor of Gujarat in 1730. The museum exhibits the heritage of the Rathores in arms, costumes, paintings and decorated period rooms.

Taj Mahal as seen from Taj Ganj area, I took this picture from one of many roof top restaurant here in Taj Ganj. There is a lot of budget hotel here, you can just walk from here to Taj Mahal within few minutes.
