On the land beside the wildlife garden's visitor centre sits the Annand/Rowlatt farmstead. Most of its historic farm buildings have been restored, including two barns that date from 1903 and 1937. Visitors are welcome to explore them, although care must be taken not to disturb the privacy of the caretaker's family, who live in the 1898 farmhouse.

A Lionfish is any of several species of venomous marine fish in the genera Pterois, Parapterois, Brachypterois, Ebosia or Dendrochirus, of the family Scorpaenidae. The lionfish is also known as the Turkey Fish, Scorpion or Fire Fish.[1] They are notable for their extremely long and separated spines, and have a generally striped appearance, red, green, navy green, brown, orange, yellow, black, maroon, or white.

This is not a great quality shot (very noisy and grainy). The original .RAW image was almost black, it was so underexposed. But Photoshop came to the rescue and from the blackness I was able to rescue the above. It would have made a great image properly exposed with the yellow of the Blackbird matching the yellow of the Scotch Broom...oh well...note to self check camera settings prior to shooting LOL

Angst - there is not room in this marsh for the two of us!

This was taken in macro mode on my front lawn! Down there in the blades of grass were these two miniature Blackbirds! LOL
