2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the beginning of WW1, the Great War. "The war to end all wars", as it was called, later turned out to be just the first chapter leading to an even greater ordeal. This pic was taken in Tyne Cot Cemetary in Passendale (aka Paschendale). There are lots of them in that part of our country.

This angel decorates the second floor of the Muze. The Muze is Antwerps most renowned music café. It once was the place where one could meet all kind of beatniks, jazz and blues musicians. The best known singer was Ferre Grignard.

Valkenburg is renowned for its "caves". These acually are marl quarries, adorned by sculptures and wall paintings. Since there's no light in the quarries (just a little gaslight from the guide), they are pitch black. I had to remember whereabouts the artifacts were and then flash, hoping I got the subject on camera.
