I have wanted to get a good photo of this bird for such a long time and it has always been way to far away for me to get a good shot. Boy did I get lucky when 3 of them were chasing each other and this one landed eye level in a tree right in front of me. I snapped as quickly as I could and thankfully got the shot :)

I was walking along and noticed a hint of orange in the green and was lucky enough to get a very small tunnel opening of leaves to focus on this beautiful Admiral Butterfly.

So technically the shot isn't perfect but it sure is funny.

All I could think of that the moment I saw this was another bird with the voice of Joe Rogan commentating on the fight. "OH and a kick to the eye, Old crazy wing has been working on his Kung foo fighting skills". hahaha

ps. the birds were both fine after their little kung foo fight. They actually flew up into a tree and were sitting next to each other like nothing happened :)

186/365 "Coyote attack" While hiking I came across this deer carcass. Hundreds of beetles were eating what remained of its flesh.

Most of the body was scattered about near a stream nearby. The head and rib cage were still intact.

Kind of looks like part of the flower petals have been plucked so I thought it would be funny to imagine this little pray mantis was doing the she loves me, she loves me not game and just gave up at she loves me not. ;)

Pray Mantis are my favorite insects. This is a pray mantis baby around an inch long. I had a hard time finding this little bugger and I can't tell you how excited I was when I did :)

Canon 60d, Sigma 105 macro lens.

The baby has flown the nest!! Today while on my normal walk around Ojibway park I noticed the baby enjoying the dew covered ground while Mom looked after from above.

Loving my 500mm lens it has allowed me to stay a safe distance from wildlife and get shots like I'm right next to these magnificent birds. So happy I got up early and went out for a hike with my camera.
